Drew Olsen, MD

A senior pathologist and managing partner at Orange Pathology Associates, Dr. Olsen provides leadership in both diagnostic services and laboratory operations. As Medical Director of Pathology, he plays an integral role in laboratory oversight, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support optimal patient care.

Bio

Dr. Olsen is one of the senior pathologists with Orange Pathology Associates, having joined the group in 2001 following his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He also served as a Clinical Instructor at Yale, specializing in oncologic surgical pathology with a particular focus on gynecologic pathology.

After beginning his practice at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, Dr. Olsen was appointed Medical Director of Pathology at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ in 2007, where he continues to lead the pathology department. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved in hospital leadership, holding positions on the Medical Executive Committee, Operating Room Committee, Antibiotic Subcommittee, and Breast Cancer Leadership Committee.

Dr. Olsen oversees laboratory operations and quality initiatives, working closely with clinical teams to ensure diagnostic excellence. He played a key role in the successful validation of COVID-19 molecular testing and laboratory-developed assays including KRAS, EGFR, ALK, and NRAS, advancing the hospital’s precision medicine capabilities.
